How to edit issues in JIRA


Assumption: User is on view mode of issue.

Step 1 : Press "Insert + F7" keys to open the "Links List" dialog.

Step 2 : Press "Down or Up Arrow" keys to navigate through the links in "Links List" Dialog or type out the issue ID where JAWS will auto select the issue id in the list.

Step 3 : Press "Tab" key to focus on "Move To Link" button of the "Links List" dialog.

Step 4 : Press "Space bar" key to focus on the "Issue ID" in JIRA view mode.

Step 5 :  Press "Enter" key again to open the selected JIRA issue in edit mode.

Step 6 : Press "Insert + F7" keys to open the "Links List" dialog again.

Step 7 : Press "Down or Up Arrow" keys to navigate through the links in "Links List" Dialog or type out the word "Edit" where JAWS will auto select and reads out "Edit".

Step 8 : Press "Tab" key to focus on "Move To Link" button of the "Links List" dialog.

Step 9 : Press "Spacebar" key to focus on the "Edit" button in JIRA issue in view mode.

Step 10:  Press "Enter" key again to open the selected JIRA issue in edit mode and once the issue is in edit mode JAWS reads the content in issue summary of the JIRA issue.

Step 11: Press "Tab/Shift+Tab" keys to navigate through the issue fields where JAWS reads out the field name and value if exists. User can either enter new value or modify the existing values at this time. Entering new value is same as How to create issue in JIRA.

Step 12 : To save the updated content, keep pressing "Tab" key until JAWS reads update button and then Press Enter to update the issue.
